Verdier: A Beautiful, Independent Publishing House, open to the World.

Verdier Publishing was founded in 1979 by four young left-wing activists eager to pursue their reflections on commitment, politics, literature, and society in a new way. In the heart of the Corbières region, on the former family farm named Verdier, an extraordinary collective publishing adventure began, open to the world and at the intersection of different cultures.

The catalog now includes more than 800 titles grouped into five main categories: literature, humanities, philosophy, art, architecture and cinema, and spirituality.

At Festilitt, Colette Olive, co-founder of Verdier Publishing, will tell the story of Verdier, which is now one of the most prestigious independent French publishing houses. The meeting will be followed by a conversation with Michel Jullien, author of the short story collection Vu d’un cercle (Seen from a Circle), published in spring 2025.
